This usually happens around 4 months before your wedding, which might be too late. But here's why creating a rough draft way earlier is key:
•Your venue may not open early enough or could charge extra for early access.
•You may need to find a new location (like a studio or Airbnb) to accommodate your early start.
•You don’t want to move locations mid-morning, and most artists won’t either!

Here’s how to create a rough draft of your wedding morning timeline:
Start by deciding what time you need to be fully ready (for photos, first look, or ceremony), consider how many stylists you will have for each service, then work backwards. 🕰️

For the Bride:
💇‍♀️ Hair: 60 minutes
💄 Makeup: 60 minutes
👗 Touch-ups & Getting Dressed: 30 minutes

For the bridal party:
⏱️ Bridesmaids & Family: 45-minute blocks per person, per service
👧 Flower Girl (under 10): 30 minutes per service

Let's say you are a brunette with no dimension, but looking at photos of styles on blonde hair. You are going to see more details in the photo that you won't be seeing in your own hair. Blonde hair naturally has more dimension, which makes the details and twists and swirls POP! Same goes for brunettes with high lights.

1. DON'T skip the preview appointment with your stylist, it is something I actually require! If you can schedule both your hair and makeup trial on the same day - DO IT!⁣

2. Pick 2-4 photos from different angles on your inspiration. That includes inspiration for the front! I like to pick apart the details of these pictures and ask a LOT of questions before we start styling - making sure we are on the same page! ⁣

3. It is NORMAL to want to adjust a few things even if you LOVED your preview hair - this is why I schedule brides a full 90 minutes on the wedding day to ensure everything is perfect! Do not be afraid to ask for adjustments if there is something you want to change. That is the reason for the appointment!!

Let's style Libby's wedding hair together! ✨️
Libby came to her preview appointment with 3-4 inspiration photos that included the front, back and sides. I thoroughly went over with her what parts of those photos she was loving and made sure to ask if there was anything she doesn't like or may have not liked with previous special occasions styles. In the folow after her appointment, we decided to add more looping curls to her bun to pay tribute to her naturally curly hair. I think together we absolutely nailed her vision!!

Libby and Adam ended up with the most beautiful Saturday in Duluth. The warm sun was shining bright and the breeze off the lake was so refreshing! Every detail of their day was so beautifully curated!
